2001 f150 4.6 - What is this part?
Trying to figure out what the name of the part below is that is circled?
Apparently my 4.6 doesnt have it...

I have no idea what that is. All the CAI kits I've seen just run a hose instead of that box. I've always wondered about it.

No idea, I have a '97 F-150, and my engine looks A LOT cleaner than that. Just random thinking, could it be a distributor cap? Or EGR sensor? I don't know where that wire that plugs into it comes from it

Also known as an air inlet resonator.

It's just an air cavity that cancels inlet air pulses that would otherwise be noisy or problematic.
