Does your cigar lighter work? If not, you have a blown fuse.

Maybe the wires have been cut ?

I mention it because a friend of mine had his obd connector (in an Oldsmobile car) butchered by a previous owner who hacked the ignition to bypass the security module rather than pay money to get it done right when they needed a new ignition.

Look at the last data link pin on the bottom right side for being bent over or pushed back.
That pin supplies the Scanner power.
Good luck.

Make sure you don't confuse the cigar lighter with the accessory power point. They are different and are on different fuses.
