fuel pump brand?
fuel pump brand?
Who makes a good one? Used to be Carter, Motorcraft, not sure now. Airtex ok? Rock Auto has a bunch of them and I want to do the job once.
What have you used? Thanks for any opinions.

I suspect the fuel pump on my 99 is starting to go out. After doing some research, I've found the carter / acdelco / delphi pumps have mixed reviews.. some claim they have opened bosch and acdelco boxes only to have a carter branded pump.
I opted to go with a Walbro pump, the build quality is pretty good and have heard nothing but good things about them. Was hard to find... but I found out for an OE pump for my 99 I need the GCA767. The 255lph pump seems to be popular but I dont have boost nor to I intend to boost, so I stuck with OE.

I worked at Autozone for about a year and sold about 100 Airtex fuel pumps/sending units. Very few of them come back, but then again, it's only been a year...
They come with a lifetime warranty, so just buy whatever you feel comfortable with.

I appreciate the replies. The internet can be confusing, with so many opinions. I had started to order the Airtex, then searched out of curiosity and found an overwhelming negative opinion on Airtex pumps. Which really surprised me, as I had good luck with them on other cars.
Heard Bosch, Walbro and Motorcraft were good. Opinions vary on who makes the Motorcraft also. I thought Airtex, but not sure now.
I wouldn't mind doing the job over if I had to, as much as I don't want to break down miles away (and I drive a long distance).
Thanks again.
