Motoring On: NFLD Flareside build thread

hi all; as I recently posted in the intro section, I'm zach from New Harbour, NFLD, big blue oval truck lover, member of several f-150/ford truck forums.

build threads seem less popular here than some other forums, but I like having a place to keep track of my truck so here goes. I put it in the 10th gen section as my pride and joy, and the one any real progress will be made on, is my '99 flareside. but I will also be including some work on the 04 XL, though that will mostly be maintenance.

well the trucks.....current DD is a 2004 wedgewood blue XL scab 6.5' 4.6 2wd, bought october 18th 2013 with 79K miles, now at 84K. bought as dad's DD, but I'm driving her as well while the other truck is off the road for a few months for a few big projects.

hoping for around september, I look forward to putting my '99 back on the road: she's a vermillion red XLT supercab flareside, 4.6 auto 2wd with a prairie tan 2-tone interior. she's got a bit of mod work into her, but nothing like finally getting around to this year. most work so far has been restoration, including an over-rebuilt chassis. she's currently off for exhaust manifold replacement, as well as a magnaflow muffler installed. have an mbrp tip to put on when she returns. also doing a full paint job this year, and a few other mods. could not be happier or prouder to carry her key, will have her for the rest of my life. she justs fits me perfect in every way. bought february 2011 with 98K miles, now at 101K miles. she's changed a lot over the 3 years and will continue. she's slightly different even now but here's a few pics:

back haha

wow, been offline a while. things have been busy, most forum time going to a busier forum. well I'll post up many of my recent upgrades. been doing a lot of bodywork, with a little extra left. got mudflaps on, an MBRP tip, a magnaflow, painted my rims which holds off the urge for new ones a bit better - performance graphite with black center caps, and a few extra touches. still a decent bit of work left.

few recent pics. updates on the 10th gen: console out, bumper caps off, bug deflector off, bedliner out (forever), stripping her down to cut what extra work I can before I start my full build. also the new license plate I got a while back and the old beat up junker it replaced

Looking good! You definitely have a plan. Nice to see an older one in your plans.

thank you! yes I'm about to build a garage, I've wanted one for some time. then I'll start completely re-doing the '99. I've always said I wanted to fully restore her (restomod is more accurate) when she got to be 15 years old. so recently I decided screw it, I'm putting myself in a position to do so.

can't wait.

Following this. I like the '99. Had a 2000 SC LB and really love that comfy cab- even more than my current '02 Crew. Beautiful scenery too!

got the oval off the tailgate. appears to have leaked under there, glad I did. glue is much more stubborn than when I deleted my f-150 emblems. gonna have to fab up a replacement in the indented spot.
