Need advice to lift or not

I'm debating if I should lift my truck with the 3'' rough country lift or leave my truck as is with the 2'' coil spacers

I must be one of the few that think the truck just doesnt look right without the door molding..

You should ptm your bumper trim, mirror cap and door handles, then lower it.
If you lift it, youll need bigger tires or it will not look right.

I thought roll pans insinuated "I'm gonna lower it"

I think they look off if they DO have the door molding.

If you want to, and can afford to, just lift it! That's what you really want to do, isn't it? Your tires will look a little small, but 3" of lift on that body style 2wd will look fine IMO.

I know you are after a look but even with something as simple as spacers you can seriously mess up your steering geometry resulting in negative handling consequences. If you must lift or lower stick with the name brand kits with all the components to restore this geometry to the proper specs. This is not an inexpensive route but top quality never is. I am certain others will chime in that their cheap lift/lower did nothing of the sort, I only know I have corrected many problems that resulted in dangerous handling.

The 3" spindle lifts for these trucks, which I both hope and assume he's getting, put the geometry back to stock. So it'll be an upgrade and get him good angles again. There are no steering issues with a level spacer (that isn't from eBay and waaaay too big) though as long as it can be brought back to proper camber/toe spec with an alignment. Lowering on the other hand, is more prone to control issue in my opinion when they're lowered "the wrong way". Doing certain things are very unsafe though, that's for sure. Even lowering with the best components can be unsafe if it's not just right, but that's usually when going really low. Ghetto-rigged lifts are horribly dangerous too.

Just be aware that lifting reduces fuel economy and bigger tires reduce fuel economy.
