rear shock help!!
I recently bought a set of es9000 pro comp shocks and went to install them yesterday and ran into a road block on the top mount. My issue is that once I get the new bushing and washers on there isnt any thread showing to screw the nut onto. Is there something im missing? Like a trick or something. This is the first set of shocks ive done so please bear with me.
What he said^.
I had the same problem with them because they use bushings that are about twice as thick as normal. I found this out too late and ended up just cutting the bushings they gave in half.

make sure they are seated in there properly, i ran into the same problem over the weekend installing the same shocks, if they are seated properly start slicing as they were saying above, i wouldnt necessarily go as far as in half but enough to get the nut started

The problem isn't compressing the shock to get it long enough, the problem is from where that first washer is tacked onto the shock rod to hold the bushing, is too short once both bushings are on. That part was about an inch shorter than my previous shocks for example.
well with the weight of the truck on the lower bushing it might compress it enough to push the bolt up just enough to get the nut started. Another thing you could try is lifting one side of the axle with a jack and see if the lower bushing compresses enough.. If I couldnt get it to start I'd return them..
Exactly...been there done that before many times over the past 40 years!
