2001 rear shock question

so im replacing my rear shocks on my truck this weekend, now the shocks are angled 2 different directions. one is towards the front and the other towards the back. now while i was crawling around under there i noticed there is on the pass side the bottom shock mount on the axle has 2 different positions and on the top a similar mount facing the back of the truck like the drivers side. what would stop someone from switchin the location so that both shocks are facing the rear? im sure there is some reasoning behind it, can anyone explain?

I put both of mine facing the rear but I have traction bars and sway bars. It was to help on axle wrap and load under acceleration.

Your not going to notice a big difference between having the both fade the same way or having them staggered.

i may switch it eventually but because of my exhaust being in the way im unable to at the moment but i think it looks normal that way with them facing the rear. but if there is an absolute reason from ford that states whatever about it ill leave it.

As mentioned, we think it was to control wheel hop. I've never had any and this change affected nothing!
