Need Help With CD Player
so, you apparently need to pull the face and have a donor radio. You need to re-soldier the switches, as they are broken. Or missing a ground connection.
long hours cursing.... Hint (use the smallest tip you can find for the iron) use lowest wattage iron you have so you don't overheat the boards too.....
sure... you can be hard headed and pull it off.
Experience tells me that one of three things will happen right after you fix it.
The cd door will stop closing, it will stop cycling cds loaded, and it will stop ejecting cds. Then you are back to needing a donor again.
Do what you want. I understand you don't want to upgrade aftermarket. Just please PM me when you smash it. I just want to know how you ended it.

I am taking bets now.... I bet you smash it.

I thought I would post the final solution. The 6 disc player I had had an electronic fault in the cd section. All gears and mechanical parts were ok. I got my hands on another player that would not power up . The cd unit tested ok so we took 2 radios and made one working unit. For now it works great so I can stay factory. I hope it works out better than what seems to be common with these units. Only time will tell.
It is not always easy to be so hard headed.... but I wouldn't know...
