Truck will not start (97 F150 4.6 Auto). Briefly jumped starter relay (solenoid) on firewall, nearly started, so changed that relay. Still no start. Jumped relay on firewall and truck started. Does that mean ignition switch is bad? Can the switch be tested? Fuses under dash appear ok. This is after main fuse from battery was blown and replaced from a bad booster cable hook-up.

 

The start lead circuit goes through the transmission selector when in Park or neutral.
Could be either.

Update: jumped the relay again, ran truck for a bit, shut it off, disconnected battery for a while, reconnected, and it started in neutral first, then it started again in park. Something apparently reset itself? Anyway issue is over now....
