Probably was rear ended hard. They have the tendency to bend right at the front of the receiver hitch, just behind the axle out

Yeah, trust your eyes in this case, you can't always trust CarFax and such:

If you paid for the CarFax I'd ask for a refund, if the dealer supplied the CarFax I'd never go back there and consider reporting them to the BBB.

Yeah, I thought maybe someone had the bed off and didn't put the mounts on right, but then, going from memory, I believe the bed mounts solid to the frame? Too bad because it is a nice looking low mileage Heritage southern truck which is what he has been looking for.

Ya there are thin plastic washers that help align the bed onto the frame, but they wouldnt cause that much of a lean issue

how many miles are on the truck? Asking price?

Truck has 74,000 miles. I believe the asking price was $11,200. One thing I noticed in the pics he sent me (other then the bed/frame) is the truck has a hitch on the front like it was towed behind an R.V. I wondered if the owner had a pull behind camper that exceeded the trucks capabilities and possibly had too high a tongue weight that tweaked the frame. If that were the case then you could assume the tranny was worked pretty hard at one time. I told him to go look at the truck, check the frame real good and assuming it is tweaked behind the axle, point it out to the dealer and as long as it runs strong mechanically and everything works fine, to just make them a lower offer of say $9,000 or whatever trade/auction price is. The frame could possibly be repaired or reinforced and he could shim the bed to re-align it. Problem is the truck is 9 hours away from him.......

Tell him to stay away unless the vehicle is repaired properly.

If you could pick it up cheap enough, like under 7000 it would be worth swapping a clean frame onto the body.
