Our main family car is a 2012 Equinox. Focus is mine. Family isn't too often in it with me; but there are times that I prefer for various reasons o have family in my vehicle.
I could eliminate Focus and only have two vehicles- something I didn't seriously consider as I should have.
I don't stand to lose money should I sell the Focus. I may actually get a few bucks back, all things considered.
Fact is, I miss driving a truck, too.

There ain't much wrong with getting an older car, with lower mileage, like a Crown Vic, that can squeeze 2 or 3 kids in the back and still get 23+ mpg.

I do have a question though, why did you get the Focus if it's another payment for you and not what you need to fit the family? I don't mean to question your decision making or anything at all, but I would maybe just keep it because you're gonna lose a bunch trading it in.

I think that right there may very well be it. I had Suburban first, then an Acura TL for 2 months as a temporary thing, then got my truck, and I can't not have a truck anymore. I've at least gotta have something big. I hope to have a Mustang along with my truck at some point, but I'd still have the truck.

Brew, I'm sure there's thousands and thousands of them. Your beloved truck model isn't the greatest thing to ever hit the automotive world. Everyone on here seems to think that their truck will last 300k miles with proper maintenance, but most vehicles are pretty worn the hell out at 150k over the course of 10+ years.

There are deals on cars out there you just gotta look. Sell the focus find a nice older used car That dont cost you $350 a month for 6 years.
I decided that's the route I'm definitely going myself. I can get a nice loaded grand Marquis with less than 40k on it for around 10k. No brainer

I am pastor of a minister who is also a mechanic. He has taken at least one Lincoln Town car to 300k miles. He has one with 200k miles now. He plans to do the same.
It seems many 4.6 will go far.
My truck has 5.4, but the difference isn't that great between the two.
I am considering an older car on Crown Vic platorm, though. Once traded 95 Grand Marquis off at 248,000.

The only car I'll ever consider buying is a newer Vic a Marquis or a Town car. There just so solid and they can be had for comparably nothing.. Car that is way under appreciated..

The only problem with those Vics and town cars is that you look like you belong in the old folks home if you drive one. I'd have to do a Marauder replica or something with one, probably add some police-type items as well. Black some things out, nice exhaust, spot light, bull bar, black wheels, just "sinisterize" it. Those damn things have a killer ride, just float down the road, massive trunk, and that bench seat is the best.

Me and John are both college students, so it does matter what we're driving I hope I never reach the point of not caring about what I'm driving. You're never too old to stop caring!
