2002 F150 heater fan issues

I am having issues with my heater/ac fan. It doesn't turn on unless I smack on the dash.....any thoughts on what could be the problem?

Sounds like something is sticking or not getting a good connection.

Does it run on all speeds when you smack the dash? The blower resistor that controls the lower speeds is located under the dash where you can get to it without removing anything. You can check the connections there.

My 95 Mark VIII was notorious for a loose connection at the blower motor. The fix was to replace the pigtail that connected to the blower. It was such a common problem that the dealers kept those pigtails in stock.

Any idea where it was sticking? Its not working at all now. I pulled the climate controls out and checked the connections there and wiggled them and still nothing. I have no idea where to go from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated
