4X4 Off Road Suspension - Need a Better Ride

Sold off my E39, my son's RegalGS and gave him my GS400, so I'm down to just my truck now as a DD until I find some other shiny thing that I want. The issue is I've got the off road suspension (stock) on a regular cab vehicle. Its a stiff ride and the sofa like cushion I call a seat is not much better.

Looking for recommendations on shocks to help make the ride a little more bearable, at least for the next couple of months.

I put Monroe gas shocks on FX4 replacing the stock Rancho shocks and they helped soften the ride just a little. Also, I put Michelin tires on it and they have a velvety like ride too. Both of those combined helped a little and made mine ok. It still doesn't ride as well as the 2000 scab 5.4 4x4 XLT that I used to have. The springs and torsion bars are evidently stiffer in the FX4s.

Agreed. Seems the SCABs, with their longer wheelbase ride much smoother than the shorter wheelbase regular cabs. I used to have the Monroe Reflex shocks on my 2wd SCAB and it made for a nice compliant ride running Toyo ATs. On my regular cab however, the tires are a little more aggressive and I'll just have to live with them since they came with the truck new when I bought it last year. Will try new shocks first and see what happens.
