I am gonna have to do that. Even the mechanic at the shop where I take my Bike for work, I can't do or do not have the equipment to do, told me to run seafoam through my tank. Dang! In southern AZ we can ride 365 days a year as long as you aren't a ***** about it being 35 degrees in the morning.

My 'cycle batts usually last 5-7 years and we have huge downtimes due to our seasonal weather ( read: snow, ice, and -20 degree temps, lol). So a lot of storage.

Wish I could ride all year long - that would be awesome

My challenge to you is to edumacate yer friends into restricting Seafoam use to parts cleaning, tank-washing and their 2-stoke bike and yard equipment. Keep it outta yer 4-stroke bike's fuel and oil systems. Good luck - it took me almost 10 years to do that - buncha stubborn bastiges whut dranks all mah beer while I'm a-learnin' 'em!

And I never put mine on the trickle charger unless it is already dead. I think I have had to use it 3 times in the last 3 years and twice it was to charge a new battery. That in itself may have been a bad idea. The things I don't know...lol

Yep - it is. Once a battery is dead - especially repeatedly, it's effectively been compromised - and it's life has been drastically reduced.Only a matter of time.

The trick, of course, is to NEVER let it get to that point in the first place. Ergo - the religious use of a maintainer - ALL the time. The quick-connector is permanently wired to the bike - it's ~2 seconds to hook up and remove.

Here's a good reference - since yer the 'Visual' type

When they're getting bad, they can fall as far as 11.90V before you begin having problems starting these engines.

Very good visual MGD. Gave me a tickle.

Then practice - on a 9 volt Duracell, or yer flashlight batteries ... or a friend's bike

Only one thing you need to remember BEFORE connecting the test equipment - ensure the range switch is on Volts, not Ohms or Amps, and wear safety glasses. OK - that's 2 things, lol.

Oh, -maybe a 10 block radius then.

So how many multimeter's have you smoked. Your not gettin mine lol.

Actually they're easy to use once you learn the basics. Taking the time to do that isn't always convenient.

I think the meter was fine? IDK I took it back to the store. HA! I had decided I was never doing that again..

A friend has 3, he said I could have one of his, I am assuming lessons are included if I throw in a 6 pack.

Cleaning the MAF sensor. Then removing the negative battery terminal to clear the KAM.
