auto locks
I would like to bump this plus I don't have a book for the truck (02 F150). I wish to disable since when truck was purchased, it has a keyfob that has a trunk opening button on it (so I know not one for the truck) and the key is a replacement. My issue is when you crank the truck in P, doors lock, when you unlock, put truck in D, doors lock again (this one I know is normal, but why are doors locking in P???).The end result has been keys locked in running truck twice in a week, all of this to find out how I can disable the auto door lock function all together. Once again, thanks guys.
Doors lock in P when you crank the truck
Ok let me try this again. I used the method used in the owners manual and all the indications led to the belief they were not activated (horn did the beeps and all). MY issue is as soon as I start the truck (in Park) BAM...doors lock. I unlock them, put in Drive..BAM, doors lock (I understand the Drive one is normal..the procedure did not work). Why are the door locking just because I start the truck?? Does it have something to do with the key fob that looks like it didn't come with the truck (since it has a trunk release button), the non Ford key?? Is there anything I canj do about this and has this happenned to anyone else?? Again, I know you guys are heavy on search button useage, can't find anything on this either. The guy who initially started this thread said it didn't work for hom either, so am I just SOL if it doesn't work the way the book says, or is there something I can do?? (I can deal with it, the truck is for a woman and her daughter and the door locking in Park just because they start it is messing them up, since they start truck, go inside to get stuff and BAM..door is locked which no matter how you slice IS NOT NORMAL!! Thank you again.
