I own a 2001 f-150 with a 5.4 that had it's fuel pump and filter changed around 15 to 20 miles ago. I just noticed that the fuel gauge seemed to be dropping faster than normal and the needle seems to be going up and down ever so slightly. If anyone knows why (fuel pump, fuel filter installed wrong) or any other Ideas I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks to all.

 

Never done a fuel pump, but I work at "The O"....there could be several reasons. First off, let's eliminate the intaller.....you, a shade-tree, the run of the mill shop, or a REPUTABLE shop? Mistakes happen, but be careful who you let do something like a fp! If it's a decent shop, they should have no problem making it right, be it a bad install or just a faulty pump.{ IT DOES HAPPEN}.... may be something as simple as the plug not having a good connection.....worse case...an idiot did the install, or installed the wrong pump.
