Right - the issue is getting one new chipped key working without an existing original or properly programmed key. You can certainly call locksmiths and explain your situation.

The key and cylinder I have is a chipped key. I replaced my ignition because it was missing the black thing on the cylinder. so you can get it programmed at dealer to your truck. the other stuff you can use the locksmith.

you can pm me

If a locksmith can make you a transponder key for your current locks for $240, I'd seriously consider it.

You know the locksmith or technician has to be AT the vehicle to re-program the PATS, don't you? Unless you have an already programmed key, the engine will never start without that step.

So, does that ebay locksmith make house calls?

Hey FOXX, stop the foolishness about the keys.
You MUST have two keys and dealer or locksmith reprogramming because the PATS and the computer 'merry' each other for data signals that is unique to each vehicle.
Otherwise the computer will inhibit fuel without the correct ID signal from the PATS system
You cannot get around it.
Never have all keys in the same place at the same time.
You can have all the secondary common keys you want to open the doors etc but they will not start the truck.
Good luck.

Well, you need at least one. My local Ace hardware can copy the existing transponder code from a working key for $80

For sure though... ebay stuff is still going to require a dealership or well equipped locksmith.

So how did you lose all the keys? Did you get a ride from someone else after you parked at home? Did you drop them in a lake? Ex take them?

at the dealership i work at, we have a locksmith that makes duplicate keys or new keys for cars that they keys were misplaced or stolen.

YOU CAN MAKE A NEW CHIPPED KEY WITH THE VIN!!!

you dont need to change all the locks or any of that. a knowledgeable locksmith can cut a key and program it from the vin. you just need to provide proof of ownership of the truck and youre good to go. we get charged 100 bucks for a new key for most cars. ford pats keys run around there and nothing needs to be changed. the locksmith downloads the code, the machine cuts the pattern and programs it to the truck with a handheld key programmer that plugs into the obd port.

I believe the OP's dealer told him that they can't do it on anything older than an 05. Do you work at a FORD dealer? If so, ask them about that.
