Coolant or oil leak?
Coolant or oil leak?
I have a coolant leak on my 2001 F150 5.4L 4WD Lariat Crew cab.
It's leaking on the driver side rear of engine. From looking at the engine from the top or underneath the truck, I can't find it. It's dripping down the front of the tranny and pooling in the driveway, not a massive amount but enough. Weird thing, it only leaks at night when the engine is cold and the ambient temp is below 40 degrees or so, if it's warmer there are no spots in the driveway at all. I think its antifreeze because when I come home from work there are no oil spots, it's dry. where would this be coming from?

Pretty sure it's coolant! Heater bypass hose? I heard they run under the intake manifold?
HAHA, i did taste it, I think it's coolant, I checked the heater hoses and the core didn't see anything. Thinking it's the bypass hose that runs under the intake manifold. Who the F would run a hose under the manifold, they should be shot!!!
