crossover tube manifold fitting.....

Hi all, new here. Found the site looking for a fix for my sons 99 F150 Triton 5.4L V8. I searched for the "crossover tube" stuff, and found that there have been others with the same problem but not much in the way of solutions. This fitting is just on the right and forward of the throt. body. I finally went to the local ford stealership up the road and they found it. Here are some pics, and part #. The old one, and new one. Notice the old one has the bend, the new one does not. Eliminates the weak spot. Use a 3/4" open end on the bottom of the hex to keep from breaking it off at the threads. Mine broke free then came out very easily.

Good deal, surprised you found one. The 97-98's had a sensor at the top. Revised for 99, then revised again lol.

ahh ok, so that sensor explains why they used to have the side mounted tube, and they didn't change it after the sensor was removed for a few model years. The one I found was actually for an 05 I think.

Right. In 99, for the 5fours anyway; that sensor was ditched. Its responsibilities were diverted to the CHT. CylinderHeadTemp sensor.
