Thumbs up i just bought me a 2001 sport need info

i think i answered my own question about the fabric on my f150 sport model i will change out the seat for used ones that have the regular soft cloth because i weigh 245 and i am more comfortable , and have a person to buy my old ones , also i took of the sport sticker it looks better now , and will change out the 17" rims and tires for the normal f150 tires and rims for that year then i should be back to normal comfort wise that i am used to so thanks for everybody helping me out thanks because the truck only has 88000 miles and well taken care of that was the reason i got it i will change the other things when i can

It was a trim/package thing too for the 97-03's, at least I think it was. There's a lot of the 97-03's around here with the same sport sticker on them where the 4x4 sticker would be. Always regular cab short beds too iirc.

As for changing your tire size, we need to know the old tire size and the new tire size to accurately say.

who has a f150 sport model to help me out mine is 2001

i have a 2001 f150 xlt sport my main problem is the 17" rims with 265/60/17 which low pro and harder ride , also i noticed the seats are very firm and stiff and bulky does that come on the sport model , i use to have an xl model not sport and the rims where 16" not lo pro tires and seats felt more relaxed i didnt feel raised like i do in these ones , i just bought the truck because of the milage 88000 and well taken care of looks and drives great but dont have the money to change it unless i sell it, until i make more money but driving not comfortable in the meantime i think i rushed it before paying attention to these two things that bother me i wouldnt have bought the truck if i took it for a longer test drive even though it was clean , so i dont know what to do i like trucks stock but this sport model is more uncomfortable that i didnt want but everything else is fine

Okay lets see for starters, those aren't low pro tires. They're around the factory size I believe, maybe a tiny bit bigger or smaller depending 4x4 or 4x2. The size of the tires you left in the vistor message on my wall are close to the same size as those you have now, but an inch shorter and an inch narrower. So if you consider the ones you have now low pro, then the ones you used to have would be low pro too.

What kind of tires are they? What's the load rating? The load rating on the tire can drastically effect the ride.

How are the front suspension components? Are they worn? Ever been replaced? Do the shocks, ball joints, tie rod ends, etc need to be replaced? Again, these can drastically effect the ride quality.

What I'm getting at is the bad ride your experiencing now is not being caused by the size of the tire sidewall.

As for the seat swapping it to one that's more comfortable would be the way to go, just hit up the junkyards. Not sure if they really changed anything between the seats from the 97-03 models besides what they're covered in, but junkyards should have plenty to try out and choose from.

You also say the truck feels taller, is the truck 4x4 or 4x2, same for your previous f150. Also what year was your previous f150?

Yeah, but my post was deleted Is it possible to stick that back in?

I essentially said what Pizzaman said with the tires not being low profile and there being a lot of different maintenance items that can all affect maintenance, but also posted some links about the differences between a "Sport" and a regular F150. Mechanically - no difference, but the seats are made from a different type of fabric and that may be why they feel stiffer and different.

Don't feel bad, all 20 of mine were.

However, it was just. I seen a 2000 or 2001 white 4x4 sport this morning. Said sport right by the 4x4 emblem.
