oil leak

02 F150 4.2L

Long time lurker here!

I replaced the Isolator Bolts, Plenum Gasket and IMRC Bushings about a year ago to fix P0171/P0174 error codes.

Sometime after the repair (several months) the old girl has stated leaking a very small amount oil. There is a drip, down on the oil pan just before the transmission. Over 3 days the driveway will have a spot the size of a baseball.

About 2 weeks ago I had my transmission worked on. They found leaks in 3 places, the rear main seal, the valve cover gasket and at the upper intake manifold. RMS was replaced with the transmission work. No change in the amount of oil leaking.

Could the work I did replacing the Isolator bolts and Plenum gasket caused an oil leak from the upper intake area? The job was pretty straight forward; could Isolator bolts backed out? I torqued them to spec at the time. The check engine light is NOT on and no codes are being thrown.

Thanks!

If you worked on the lower intake, then yes it could come from your work. If you did just the plenum bolts, then probably not.

Could be the rocker cover gasket or even the rear main seal. If the trans work you had done involved removal of the trans, it should (rear main) have been done then just on general principals.

Take a closer look from underneath around the oil filter too.

Good luck
