1997 - 2003 F-150

no speedometer

no speedometer

Ok I took two trucks and built on good one I used a 2001 ford f150 body and motor harness. Comp etc everything except frame n tranny I used 1998 ford f250 light duty frame and tranny I switched steering colums bc the 01 was automatic n I was useing manual so I didn't hook up the cruse control and the abs didn't work so I didn't hook it up nether so the truck has convential brakes everything works good except the speedometer and the odometer can nebody help can I hook the vss dirct or is there a way to make it work everything worked fine till I built the truck

The SPEEDO gets it's signal from the PCM.
The cruise control needs a VSS input to reference the set speed.
A look at the cruise control diagram would show this signal input.
You may or may not be able to solve the speedo issue unless your good at following schematics for the dash and PCM connections.
Even then there likely would be accuracy problem.
In these later trucks after 2000 it's all electronics such that tire and gear ratio becomes part of the programmed end result driving the speedo and mileage readings.
It's hard to put combinations together that don't match the original intended factory design.
As the model years progressed changes were made making it difficult to know what might work unless you research it.
