I am thinking about swapping the rear axle in my 97 f-150 4x4 for one with disc brakes. it currently has the 8.8" axle on it and I was wondering if there would be any benefit to changing it to the 9.75" axle or just stay with the 8.8. basically just wondering which is Stronger/better?

 

9.75 is stronger, but will require drive shaft modification also.
