supercrew starting prob

I have a 01 super crew that is not starting. Its like the key is not being detected but sometimes it fires right up. Can anyone tell me what's the problem please.

You describing a PATS issue.
Maybe try another key.
When it acts up does the Theft lamp flash.
Have to get a starting point or it's just guessing.
