Need Help on Short Box Bed Re-Installation
Need Help on Short Box Bed Re-Installation
Guys:
I am finishing up my rear frame replacement on a F150 2000 short bed.
Almost ready to reinstall bed box. I replaced gas tank due to rust and the fact I broke off the filler tube at tank...... tank still needed to be replaced, so was not big loss.
Now I have to make sure I do not damage the tank filler spout on brand new tank when I reinstall the bed box. I am using 4 guys to lift it on. Should I have filler tubes with clamps secure and assembly dangling, or partially connected, or off. Looks like they have to be at least partly assembled due to space limitations.
Need some Help and Advice.
Thank you.

I've always left it attached to the tank and loose up top. Just put your strongest guy in the front left corner because he will need to hold the bed and get it lined up.
You need to somewhat lift over the filler neck to get the bed on.
And don't forget the small hose clamp that supports the filler neck onto the bottom of the bed just in front of the wheel well.
