Tiny Metal Shavings
I am not sure what kind of filter is on there now but I just bought a brans new fram filter and a case of Castrol High Mileage 5W20 which is what is recommended for this truck. Hoping to have more info after my oil change in a few days. Thanks everyone for their continued support here.

Stick with Motorcraft maintenance parts/fluids.

Glad to hear it's running the 5w-20, but the FRAM is definitely not good. The anti drainback valve is made from nitrile - as with most oil filters, but the Motorcraft uses silicone. Nitrile will harden with age and heat, but silicone will not - at least not at common oil temps. How fast the nitrile hardens depends on the quality of the product.
The Ford modulars use an use an oil pump mounted to and driven off the front of the crankshaft. The sump is in the rear of the pan so between the volume of the pickup tube and filter is a lot of "dry" pumping before oil reaches the pump if the oil drains out.
