Having problems with my truck

My truck seems like it is miss firing when i get up to 38-45 mph wondering if anyone had any ideas. I have a 1998 4.6 V8 it has 86,xxx miles.

One or more of your coils is likely causing a misfire. You need a scanner that can read live data and count misfires, or wait until it gets worse and you get a check engine light.

ok thanks what one of my friends said it could be, Do you know where i could pick up a scanner?

The 98 4.6 doesn't have coil on plug, it has 2 coil packs and plug wires.

You didn't answer my questions in your other thread, but you did answer one here. With 86k, you need new spark plugs. Use only Motorcraft platinum, do not use antiseize, and torque tham to 28 ft/lb. Use dielectric grease in the boots.

Ok thanks and sorry about that. So you think that its probably just the spark plugs than? not the coil packs.

I doubt it would be coil packs or wires - if the spark plugs have never been changed they are due.
