Mine lasted to 140k, you'll probably be ok.

Still have my original 3G. Last year they used them for these trucks was 98. Just replaced the brushes, but I noticed the brushes are wearing thru the copper contact points lol. So, not much longer most likely. 308,000 miles so far tho.

These are rated 130AMP, but every large case 3G is good for 165AMP's if called upon. That's also reason for the 175 MEGA fuses, which also ended in 98.

You can still get the 3G's @ FFI or OFFI. That's where my next will come from.

Ryan builds them over @ RJM, -

Had an alternator take a dump on me halfway between Alaska and the lower 48. Couldn't find the one I needed in remote Canada, so I bought an RV battery and drove on battery power the rest of the way. Got real good at swapping batteries. Stopped at night and recharged them. It was a Chevy Luv BTW. Had to jam a set of points in the regulator closed so the fuel pump would run.

A Chevy Luv. Dang, it's been awhile since I've heard that name lol.

Sounds like you kept the wheels turning.

Murphy's stroke me too. I bought REMY 92319 from Rockauto (130A new). According to their web site this was supposed to fit for my 2003 4.6 F-150. Unfortunately it seems that the pulley on this one is wider than original. I guess I need to return this and get one with correct size pulley, unless the pulley can be easily swapped?

What, did you get a 8 rib? A six rib is good for 130amp. Anything over that, you should have an 8 rib or the belt will slip.

Yup. I'll return REMY and bought BOSCH AL7537N (130A) instead. According to www.boschautoparts.com this has 6 rib pulley.

Mine went out while towing a car between MS and GA. First the radio quit. Then all the instrument needles started spazzing out. I pulled off at an exit off of I-10 to see if the battery connections were loose since it was recently replaced. Then it wouldn't start. Luckily I got a jump and barely made it to an advance auto parts just down the road. Mine had around 145 to 150k miles on it back then.

Geezzz, I spoke to soon about my alternator. Pretty sure it's the Alt with the way it seems to be failing. Yea, not totally tho, - the battery is getting old as well. I'll figure it out. Tired of working on it at the moment, just did the front end lol.

Shoot, I wanted to use her this week..

I think it's the battery, it's down to 10 volts. I'll try charging it once to get the truck started so I can check the alternator, - looks like the battery tho.
