Special Tool Substitution and Workaround for Head Replacement
I need some help with alternative tools in place of those stipulated in the factory instructions. Tools called out in instructions are: Crankshaft Damper Remover, Crankshaft Positioning Tool, Camshaft Holding Tool, Camshaft Positioning Tool, Fan Clutch Holding Tool, Fan Clutch Wrench, and Front Cover Seal Remover. If I have to buy these, cost is over $500. Please give me suggestions on how to avoid buying these special tool. I am sure there are lots of workarounds available. Please let me know what your used.
I live in Alaska Bush and tool rentals or loaners are not available.

Purchased a head package that came with the attached, detailed factory instructions.
I had previously looked for instructions but did not find any that were near this detailed.
I thought the forum would like to have it.

Yea, you have to watch what you get from Ford Service. Their way isn't always the easiest or best. It depends what your working on. Sure you can follow the instructions you have, - but it's not always the only way it can be done.
