Cool thanks for all the replies guys. Tomorrow I finally have a day off so I'll check all the things above starting with the pcv elbow. Hopefully it's just that since it's a pretty cheap and easy fix. Do you guys know if this would be something like autozone would carry or would I have to order it? Also I'm assuming Dorman is the way to go for it?

Just the elbow can be a bit difficult to chase down. Dorman has them for a 4.2 and 5.4, but not a 4.6. You may have to get a complete hose assembly from Ford.

Well checked the pcv today, didn't see any signs of damage, had someone press the gas while I watched it and I couldn't see it collapse in on itself either. Checked around the manifold like patman mentioned and couldn't feel any leaks. Rechecked the exhaust all the way up to the front cats and couldn't find any leaks either. At this point I'm at a loss with the only other possibility being clogged cats, so I called an exhaust shop today, they wanted to hold it for a day and 140 to check for leaks and do a test on the cats, so I declined for now. Looks like I may end up waiting until it throws a code or I can actually notice any irregular performance to nail down what's causing it some more, because of as of right now, it still runs perfectly fine just has the annoying sound. Thanks for the help though everyone!
