loose shifter handle

Fellas
For a while now, my shifter handle seems loose on the steering shaft. I cannot for the life of me, remeber how to tighten it up. You wiggle it and the indicator goes p-r,d-n-2,etc. But does not change the gear selected it stays in the gear selected. Anyone?

There is a bolt om the linkage in the steering column that commonly comes loose and even falls out. Gotta get in there and tighten/replace it.

Thanks, I couldnt remember if it was on the column. And if it was 1 or 4 bolts. So you sold the stang, owned a 66 Shelby and a 73 Grande. Miss them.

I'm not sure if it is the same thing that jethat was refering to, but at the bottom of the steering column there are 2 Torx. You have to be on your back on the floor and look up. Pretty easy fix, once you locate them.
