Ticking noise when you first start a 2002 f150

Leads me to believe in my case that the fuel pump may be weak and it takes a second or to to come up to full pressure.
Or the relay is bad, - they can click. Next time that happens, put you hand on the relay right after. If its warm, it's bad.
