Thanks for all the compliments. Can't wait to get them installed.

Going with the same setup as TRIXSNK - ION 171's with 305/70R16 DuraTrac tires.

Question - How do I keep the raw aluminum rims from oxidizing?

plasti dip them in the winter. its really the only way unless you seal them with zoop seal or something similar. regular washing will not keep salt from pitting them.

Powder coat them in clear is another option.

I love that look on TRIXSNK's truck. Same wheels I want to run honestly. As far as protecting them on a cheaper scale. I used to work with a guy who invented his own aluminum polish that not only polishes but seals due to a chemical reaction. The polish is a little on the pricey side but this stuff is amazing IF used correctly. I personally restored wheels on a Peterbuilt with over 2 million miles on them to a mirror shine. This polish is oilfield tested and holds up to anything and everything. I am no longer affiliated with him and stand nothing to gain from telling you this. But the product is Gords aluminum polish and available at http://gordsaluminumpolish.com/ Just an option. Much cheaper than powder coating them. Hope this helps buddy. There is also videos and pictures of various items that he has polished and restored as well as videos showing it in action.

I've heard good things about Gords as well. I personally used an Aluminum Deoxidizer and Purple Polish from California Customs. I had great luck with that stuff on my old wheels, but as you know anything with polished wheels will only last so long. After a year, mine still looked great but hard water spots were starting to catch up.

Here's a link if you want to check them out: http://www.californiacustom.com/

And if you don't know, a powerball is your best friend with any polishing job.

Thanks for the advice, guys!

I got the alloys on my wife's Lexus powdercoated silver for $280 or so. they are dead SEXY.

Unfortunately PC is not in the budget for my old truck. I went ahead and bought some Gords and a powerball for my new wheels. Now to find a deal on tires...

Those are nice. As long as you keep up with them they will look like new for a long time. I had a set of pro comp 1069's polished alums and washed it once a week and no issues with even the littlest pitting. I did get a little fading like the shine became dull but that could have come back with a little polishing. I only washed them and they stayed nice. Polishing them every once in a while would be that much better.

What are you thinking for meats?

Nice rims dude! The only thing I dont like about my 16x10 wheels is that if you are not going with aftermarket fenders expect your truck to be filthy all the time. My wheels are 16x10 with a 4 3/4 back space and a -24 offset and the tires throw everything at the side of your truck. Your truck looks beautiful. Cant wait to see the combo on your truck though.
