Anyone replace calipers and brake hose?
Turns out both my front calipers are sticking. Brake lines are pretty shot as well. Anyone have suggestions on cheapest and best way to replace them? Where to get the calipers, ect? I was quoted at a local place at $800 for everything installed and that seemed kind of high.
Calipers are really easy to change do them yourself. I have always gotten mine from Napa and never had any problems with them. Now i have never changed my brake lines but if you decide to change the braided line fork out the money and get stainless steel ones. They'll help you stop on a dime unlike the squishy oem ones..
Calipers, - Cardons w/steel pistons from Rock Auto. They're a little pricey tho. Brembo rotors, = basically stock rotors w/extra meat. They won't warp or wear .Ever..Carquest Ceramics and Russel brake lines. They'll last for ever since all the above have lifetime warranties. Money well spent, specially if you pull anything. I installed mine back in 08.
All half tons should of been built this way to begin with. Factory OEM's absolutely suck!

I always use Advance.. order it online and do the pickup in-store.. coupon code RETMENOT124 gets you $40 off a $110 purchase.. The cheapest ones you can get will be more than sufficient.
I always run the cheapest rotors, with the decent/higher end pads. As far as brake lines you have how many miles on the truck and they lasted that long? Will the truck outlast the new ones? Seems like a waste of money to run the SS, don't they make a copper line thats cheaper?

Can't you do that yourself ? It's not that hard, or is it ? With Russell's you usually will have to have them custom made because they build to suit. They may have the stock sizes made up already, but they may not. So, you might have to measure your factory sets and order them that way. Russell does a lot of custom work for off road suspensions, lift kits and so on. My lines came before my Brembo's did. They'll make them up right away for yuh.
