wheel bearing grease and gasoline smell

I have a '99 f150, super cab, 4.6, 2wd with 171k. Question, about 3 years ago I replace the front brake rotors and wheelbbearings. I used blue multi purposegrease to pack the wheel bearings. Should iI have used ssomething better or more specific to wheel bearings?
Also while driving I get a faint gasoline smell in the cab. I have looked in a few places and Dont see any leaks.
Thanks

Look over all the injectors top and bottom seal areas.
Look at the regulator.
All while the motor is running because a leak of gas dries up too fast otherwise.
Look over the fuel lines, filter and tank for a leak.
Look around the tank straps for rust through. There is a recall on that.
Good luck.

It will say on the Multi Purpose grease specifically. - Since it's Multi Purpose, -wheel bearings needs to be specified. That said, I have 3 different types of bearing packing grease on the shelf, - Blue, Black and Yellow.

I would guess your alright, but it doesn't hurt to read the back of the can.

Last time I did wheel bearings, I used Mobil 1 synthetic multipurpose grease.
