Unhappy 2003 Screw Speedometer stopped working

Hi everyone, im new here and would appreciate some help.

I was driving my 03 f150 Screw(5.4 auto xlt) yesterday and when I looked at the gauges I was surprised to see the speedo sitting at about 140km/hr. When I stopped and parked, the speedo sits at the wrong side of the gauge...at 160km/hr....When I drive the speedo will somewhat work backwards and sit at about 135km/hr.
The cruise control still works, so does the odometer. There is no CEL/ABS or any other warnings on the cluster.
I did a google search and found how to put the gauges in test mode, it said dtcNONE.
Can anyone help with what I should be looking for or replacing? I heard it could be the cluster itself or the sensor at the transmission or differential but I don't want to replace before being sure.
If the problem is the cluster itself can I fix my cluster or do I need a new one? I hate when the cluster reads the wrong mileage and most in the JY likely have more km than mine. If I cannot fix the current speedo I will most likely have to grab a cluster from pick n' pull
Thanks.

It's the cluster itself. If it were a sensor the odometer would be screwed up too, and it would run like crap and possibly trip a CEL.

The odometer mileage isn't stored in the cluster, it's stored in the PCM.

Thanks for the answer.
I kinda figured it would be the cluster, and its good to know that the mileage will stay the same when replaced.
So is there a specific cluster I need(say 01-03?). I did see a red Screw at pick n' pull a couple days ago.
I read something about an anti theft in the newer trucks which means their cluster needs to be programed at the dealership. Would my 03 need to be programed or is it a simple swap?
Im using my phones GPS speedo for now
Thanks again!

GlC, i had a frind who had to have the cluster replace in his work truck, not sure of the year, but his milage started over. Not sure about the year, It could have been an 03,06,08, i have no idea. just saw the milage was @ like 20,000 miles, so i asked him why, and he told me the cluster had been changed.

Edit:
I also think the problem is in the cluster.

Hmm well that is a pain in the butt, hopefully the dealer doesnt want too much $ to program a new cluster.
The speedo has worked a couple times randomly since it stopped the other day, but mostly it is stuck at 160...
Can I use any 97-03 cluster or does it need to be a specific year?

I know for a fact that you cannot use a 97 or 98 because those were analog odometers.
