Kid on the way. I have a regular cab but want a super cab

We're due next month and I've been thinking more about it lately. I love my regular cab but can't help thinking how useful a supercab would be. Most of the trucks that aren't junk around here are atleast 6000 to 9000 for a supercab 4x4. Looking at trucks from 2000 to 2003 preferably. I have four thousand dollars for a vehicle plus what my trucks worth. Should I just get a loan and get the new truck then sell my truck and pay it off? Would that hurt my credit? Don't really want to trade it in because they probably won't give me much for it. All suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

I was quoted 3500 bucks from the insurance company when I got in an accident. That is what you would get about for it. Although mine was super cab. Just a number to work with.

We will most of the time but there will be times that I have to pick up in daycare. Plus it will be nice if we have to haul things that won't fit in her car.

i gotcha, i would get a loan so you can sell your truck privately so you can get more money for it.

I have a little one and a regular cab. Room can get tight but that's why I have a tonneau cover to throw things in the back. Still glad I got to keep the truck and have a kid.

Congrats on the little one bud.

It won't hurt your credit if you pay the loan off early. Just make sure the loan your getting doesn't have any penalties for paying it off early. I would avoid small car dealers who finance in house.

The last car I financed was my fiancees Accord and I only made one payment before I paid the loan off.

Thanks guys we are really excited. Id rather have the supercab so I can have some bed space still. After having an 8 foot bed I definitely don't want to go too short. Here is the truck I have been drooling over.

Private party book on that one in Peoria is around $8500. Book on the other one is around $5800. I'd go to Peoria - a year newer, less miles, FX4 package, and a manual trans.

Don't worry about the wife, if she goes into labor she can call an ambulance. Got any relatives close to you? Take a friend with you instead of your wife.

I say take the wife, and if she goes into labor, stomp on the brakes and have that baby Ricky Bobby style.
