Hi Everyone - My truck has issues : (

Replaced the water pump / fan clutch together and the next day. White smoke coming from exhaust like spy hunter. Checked for leaks none visually so is it internal leaking of coolant with fuel?

Engine started to struggle idling and then finally...its not starting.

I changed the spark plugs and wires. No help there. I've never had to pump the gas pedal to start it before.

Whats going on with my truck? Is something going on funky with Air Control or Fuel Delivery or both?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Hugh

I don't think changing the fan, clutch or water pump has anything to do with the issue that developed.
There should be code set to offer a hint as to the trouble.
Pumping the throttle has no effect on a FI motor.
It doesnot have the effect of moving gas into the motor.
Go about it as a completely new unrelated problem unless there is something linking the work done to the issue.
White smoke usually is coolant getting into a cylinder.
Good luck.

Thanks GLC -I needed to change water pump according to local AAA service guy AND then the autoparts store advised changing the fan clutch at the same time so I did. This resolved the engine cooling system and water flow.

But once I put the new water pump on, the white smoke began.

Great advice sir. Will do.

Was there was an existing issue that may have been why the pump and fan were recommended to be changed?

You can hydrocarbon test the coolant for exhaust gasses. Are you loosing coolant?
When you say it won't start now... is it still turning over?

I was afraid of that - you have the engine with bad intake manifold and front cover gaskets. Hopefully it's not hydrolocked. If it is, you probably have at least one bent connecting rod.
