Rim help for old guy..

I had my factory rims chromed yrs ago as in the pic below. Recently two of them have been losing air slowly and the rim flaking off chrome on the back sides. Did a tank test on one of them with the tire overinflated and it has a pin hole leak in the rim itself.
Anyone know a good source of rims that retain the factory offsets and back spacings of the factory wheels? Not sure what to be looking for and dont want them sticking out of my wheel wells or going oversize on the tires.

I prefer the 5x135 spacing and a 16x8 width as with the OEM ones.
Re-chrome on this is a little pricey as they have to strip, refinish( corrosion areas under chrome flakes in back ) and then chrome again. Not favorable estimates to do so and could go new aftermarket for probably cheaper....

I really liked these chromed while they held air the last 10 yrs...LOL

Not sure about O. E. wheels but if you search ebay for " 5x135 16x8 " you should get a ton of affordable rims to choose from in the O. E. size. Some might be 16x8.5 but i would doubt you will notice a size difference so slight.

Also now that i think about it my O.E. rims were 17 x 7.5, and i beleave the 16's are also 7.5 wide

Thanks for the info. I did a search earlier but came up with all sorts of offsets and the like. Not 100% percent sure what OEM specs are on the rims though to match...Never had to buy aftermarket ones before in my 48yrs except for Cragars back in the 80s..LOL

If you liked the look of the rims you currently have, you could check ebay or your local salvage yard for the same rims you have now and then get them chromed.

Or, you could search for some OEM Lariat 17's that are already chrome and then run the factory tire size with them. That would keep the factory look while maybe saving you a little money. That is unless the tires you have for your 16's are new or fairly new and you are wanting to keep using them.

I love the way those wheels look chromed. The width on them should be 7". I know my factory 16's were.

As for aftermarket wheels, the bullet hole style wheels (Mickey Thompson Classic II's) are always a nice subtle upgrade.

The reason I want to stay with the 16s is the tires have only 1200 miles on them. Just put them on not long ago. Had the slow leak issue before but was hoping it was a tire or valve stem. When it followed the installation of new ones I knew it was a wheel issue.
I checked on chroming and its about 200 each to do so on top of the cost of getting new ones to chrome to stay the same. Cost wise I could just get new aftermarket ones in the end for less..

For the offset, it looks like the ebay adds have the backspacing listed as well. If you go with a 4.5" backspacing you should be good, as that is the factory backspacing.

Also i found the same rims you have now on ebay and buxton was right on the 7" wide but there are not many options in that width.

So an 8" wheel with 4.5" backspacing will stick out an inch more than your rims now, but i wouldnt think it would be to far out.

Thanks for the info and the help. IT helps me understand the sizing a bit more. An inch more wouldn't be that big of a deal. If it was 4wd I would probably go more aggressive and have it stick out more but with 2wd I like them tucked in the wheel well more.

Thanks again.

No problem, glad i could help.
You gotta post a pic of the truck once you get the new rims on it.
