Worth the while 3 inch lift using new torsion bar keys?
Anybody think that if you key new torsion bar keys that will lift the truck 2 to 3 inches. Do you think that it would be worth the kit for the front keys as well as blocks for the back? Anybody able to fit 33s under because of it?
I have heard nothing but bad things about putting new keys in. I dont have any personal experience with new keys though. I just cranked up the stock one a little and I fit 33's (285/75/16) on it no problem. Like Hunter said everyone will tell you not to do it. It puts way too much stress on your front end.
I have personal experience...thousands of dollars of unfortunate experience...if you're looking to replace everything under the front end of your truck (and I mean everything), then put em in and crank em up haha....just crank your stock keys a little...only go like 1.5 inches of lift MAX! ....you may not even need to though...I fit 295 75 16 terra graps on 16x10 wheels on all stock suspension ....no rubbing no joke
Leave the torsion bars alone
There's a reason why manufacturers suggest that you not exceed a 6mm space on the adjustment bolt ..Feel free to change the torsion bushings and tires when you throw out the front end...Do a Lift !!!!
You can crank the factory ones all the way up if you wish and still be in spec. But yes it will increase wear on front end components but not nearly to the degree as those worthless aftermarket keys will. Besides its free to crank the factory ones plus an alignment.
With the factory keys cranked all the way up the biggest tire you can cram in there is a 35" on the stock wheels with minor trimming, so 33's on stock wheels will fit fine. But if you go with aftermarket wheels that of course can effect the tire size.

Just lift it right; -suspension lift is the only way IMO.
I cranked my bars and replaced the factory block + u bolts. Looked cool, but the ride got old. Didn't realize how much I sacrificed until I brought it back down to factory settings. Never do that again lol.

i got tired of the terrible ride....i had keys and a 4 inch lift blocks in the rear...got so tired of the awful ride i finally just went ahead with a suspension lift.... i was so tired of fixing and replacing everything on my truck because of those keys (those keys literally bent my truck over and raped it).....i wished i had never touched the suspension and just gone body lift.....of course now im glad i have a suspension lift and will be putting a body on soon enough...

i just installed 3 inch block in the back and just cranked my t bars and i fit 285/75/16 which is a 33 on a aftermarket wheel and they fit great. the ride did not seem to change much and its to soon to tell if front end will fall apart but i would save your money on keys and just crank the t bars
