Right now i have a 4" tappered block along with the 2" stock block on my truck. i am wanting to get rid of the stacked blocks and also could use alittle more lift on the back. i am thinking about a 5" single block, with a AAL. my question is how much lift did you get from a AAL, and is there a differance between brand. I know they say 1.5-2.5", but thats 1" differance

If the AAL will give me the 2.5" of lift, then i can just use my 4" block, but if it will not give me 2.5" then i will have to get a 5" block.

I know some say the short ones ride rough compaired to the long ones, but witch one give the most lift?

What do you have and how much lift did you get?

My AAL (Quote 2.5in.) Came out to 1.75

 

It'll really depend on your springs, it'll be hard to say without installing it.

 

so if the springs are good it gives more lift? or will it give more lift if the springs are bad? mine have 270,000 on them but dont seem to be bad.

 

If my thinking is correct, more worn your springs are the more lift it should give.

 

Yea that's what I was thinking too because it'll help restore some of the arch they've lost.

 

two words. and a number. 2'' lift shackle. Cheaper and easier than a add a leaf. And you only need an inch so its just what you need. 2'' shackle will give you an inch.

 

This would be a better route. Wont need as tall of a block.

 

what is the down side of the lift Shakle? A shackle with an AAL, with my current 4? block would be about right, and i would get rid of the stacked blacks, and some axel wrap

 

BDS makes 5.5" lift leaf springs but they are kind of expensive. Around $500-$600 for a pair with the hardware kit. Would be a good option if you want to ditch the tall blocks and reduce axle wrap.
