Wheel spacers

Ive got a '97 4x4 that im doing a lot of work on. I want to space the wheels out to give it a more agressive look. How far cam I space them out? Id like 4-5 inches. Can I do that and if so where can I bet the spacers? Thanks!

You want a 4-5" spacer?! I hope your joking, that would be horribly unsafe to say the least.

What kind of wheels are you using? Oem, aftermarket, etc?

Changing the wheels to both one with a lower backspacing and wider wheel can push the wheels out.

A wider tire alone would give you a wider stance.

man, i have an 02 lifted, that i was/am thinking about going with 1.5" spacers, but dont think i will from the extra stress it will put onbearings, tierods, idealer arm, i would not go 4.5 to 5" at all, what wheels, and tires are you running?

Do you have a lift on the truck? Because if not that's really going to limit you on going wider.

I think 2.5" is the biggest they make!

If you want wide, go with a 10" wide wheel with 4-4.5" backspace and a 12.50 or 13.50 wide tire.

I use to have 16x10's with 4.25" backspace and 35x12.50 nittos and half of the tire stuck out of the fenders. Man I miss that.

DAMN toolj you must have had to replace the ball joints at every oil change(not to mention pushing them with a 4.2)

Definatly a cool look though, but that setup belongs on a SAS setup

EDIT: soon as i finished my post you pulled down the pictures and original post? Why

I had it like that for a about 6 months. No issues with ball joints, bearings etc. I took the pics down cause i didn't want to mess OP's thread up with a flaming contest. I quickly remembered after posting the pics how im treated here so i was not thinking when i posted them.

Back to thread topic. OP just how far out are you wanting? If you could find a pic of the look you want we may help you with your decision on how to go about getting that look.

Hopefully it'll be different this time around, and your stuff won't get bashed like crazy. You should still post some pics up in the show off thread ha.

x2 i would have left it up, it fit the topic of the thread. (sounds like what the OP wants to me) definatly post it in the show-off thread.

@ OP, toolj's idea of a pic of what your looking for would definatly help
