Squeaking front suspension

So the driver side front suspension is squeaking and making terrible noises, pretty much any time I am not driving on a straight perfectly smooth road. When I put on new coil springs a few months ago the guy at the shop who did it said the ball bearings were wearing out and would need to be replaced in November (oops), but that with our trucks you can't just replace the ball bearing, you need to replace the entire control arm. I'm going to need to order the part and bring it in to them as they don't source stuff (they're a tire shop that has a brake division that also does suspension), but I just wanted to make sure that the man was correct in it being the control arm that needs to be replaced. Thoughts?

Thanks.

PS: I'll be stopping by the same shop within a few days for them to check it out again, but I wanted some opinions from other owners who may have had this problem as well, and their solution to it.

By the description I can't tell if that's your exact problem, but if your ball joints were almost done before installing leveling springs then they definitely are shot now!

I have a 4x2 also, replace control arm, check (replace) lower ball joint, and grease everything that has a fitting. If it has been a while since tie rods and other suspension has been replaced, do it now you will thank yourself later.

If you have a front sway bar check the bushings that bolt to the frame they are infamous for squeaking. If they are you can apply some grease as a temporary fix until you replace them.
