Dead power point outlet
Dead power point outlet
I am new here and out of ideas to fix my power outlet. I have a 2003 F-150. I use a diehard 140watt power inverter religiously. I was charging my phone on my way home and it worked fine. I plugged my inverter into the outlet on my boat and it didn't work. I plugged it back into the outlet I had just pulled it out of in the truck and the outlet was dead. I replaced the fuse in the dash and the fuse under the hood. Still no power to the outlet. The inverter will not light up. I tried plugging in my 12volt tv...nothing. I must be overlooking something. If I don't fix this my wife is gonna scream! Can anyone please point me in the right direction?
What model are we talking about?
A Super Crew?
The rear power point fuse is #12 a 20 amp fuse.
I suspect your Diehard has died and blew the fuse in the truck again and in the boat.
Replace the fuse and try some other device in the power point for a check.
Good luck.

I have a regular cab 2003 F-150. The power point is located on the lower dash beside the cigarette lighter. I have replaced both fuses and tried plugging in a 12volt tv. Everything had worked fine originally. In five minutes time I lost all power and can not get it back.
There are two outlets on the dash.
For info only:
The cigar lighter outlet is a different type just for the ligher so a regular plug may/will be intermittant plugged in that socket.
It's fuse is #1 a 20 amp in the engine bay box..
.
The regular socket next to it is fed by fuse #3 in the passenger compartment panel.
If you cannot get power to your proper power point, use a volt meter to see where the voltage stops, starting at the fuse holder hot side.
Good luck.
