Camshaft syncronizer install problems
Hey guys,
The truck has a 4.2 with an auto and 4x4. We started hearing the notorious chirping noise from the water pump area and then got a check engine light with a code camshaft error or something. So I did some research and narrowed it down to the camshaft syncro and sensor. I bought one and started to change it. I got all the coolant drained and the hoses off of the metal pipe coming out of the water pump. However when I took out the bolt holding the pipe on, the pipe is stuck in the water pump and won't budge. I've tried everything besides cutting it off. Anyone familiar with the job will know how much of a pain it is but I'm pretty stumped at this point. If anyone has dealt with this or has any suggestions it would be great. I really don't want to go to ford. Thanks
