What shocks to use with torsion bar crank...

So I "cranked" the torsion bars on my truck this weekend to level and get a little more clearence the the 33's. Truck has 100k on stock shocks so they were to be replaced soon anyway. So a couple questions I have. Will a stock shock work with the torsion crank. When I say stock I mean length and travel. My second question is,,,,I'm looking for a shock that will ride smooth on the road, but stiffen up when I need it. I've been looking at the kyb Gr2's. Any other suggestions??

Thanks
Bob

Stock will be fine, if you don't mind the stock shocks, any aftermarket brand pretty much is better. Billstein fronts seemed a little short when I replaced my fronts, without a bar crank so maybe something to think of.

I had a set of Monroe Reflex LT shocks put on my '02 to replace the blown out FACTORY Ranchos at 130k... Cranked the t-bars also, truck rides great now and no bottoming out over bumps either!

Cranking the torsion bars has no effect at all on the shock requirement. You still need/require a stock replacement shock. I've heard the Bilsteins are short also. For some reason, those shocks limit the travel instead of going full to the bump stop; I personally don't like that.

I had Edelbrocks on my truck when it was stock. That was a pretty good shock. Would run it again.
