98 f150 wont move

I have a 1998 f150 4x4, the truck has not been driven in a few years its been up on jack stands. I just rebuilt the front end and did a four wheel break job, after getting the truck off the jack stands, I can't get the truck to move in drive or reverse. I also noticed that when you go from reverse to park the gears grind and I can't even get it to shift into 4H.

any suggestions?

I checked the tranny fluid and it is fine, also the tranny was just rebuilt a few years before I stopped driving the truck.

Theres a guy over in the transmission section he reads that part pretty regular. Mark the former ford transmission guy. Post over there and he might help you out. Might wanta ask a mod to remove this one or move it so no one complains about cross posting.

That would be great if a moderator could move this to the transmission section for me!

JMC........that's exactly what the problem was, just after I made this post I decided to take the transfer case shift motor off just to make sure that the truck was in 2wd and sure enough the TC was in a neutral position. Ask me how it got into this position i don't know, when i stopped driving the truck a few years ago I drove it into the driveway and put it up on stands and that's where it sat until now!

The truck is moving fine now, thanks to everyone who replied to my post with your feedback.
