Install fm direct antenna in 1997 ford f150

I'm trying to install my fm direct antenna adapter FDMA25 in my F150 Supercab Lariat. Problem is the existing antenna connects to the back of the radio and undoubtedly because of the restricted space the plug in is 90*. The plug in on the FDMA is straight and is about 1 1/2" so when I push the radio back in it won't go all the way. No one seems to have an adapter for this. I can find lots of GM adapters with a 90* male end but nothing for Ford. Has anyone out there run into this problem and what have you used?

I ran into this exact same problem when trying to use the Sirius FM direct antenna connection. You'll just need to keep looking. I've seen the adaptors on Ebay, but I ended up getting mine at a local FutureShop (the car audio installation department should have something).

It was basically an antenna adaptor/extension (about 6"), that had the elbow on it, and enough slack, that I could actually push the radio back in.
