With 2500 you can do it. Buy a spindle lift kit like this one. I've found some for $300 on Ebay but make sure its spindles in the front and blocks in the back or it will ruin your suspension. Install will probably be about $700 or so, more or less depending on where you live and the shops around you. The remaining money (lets say $1300) may only cover tires, but 285/75/16s will fit over the stock rims. Otherwise you would have to spend a few bucks more to get 17's or 18's and 33's. I would look for a wheel and tire package like this one to save some money.

The other option you have to lift is a body lift. Body lifts are a bit cheaper (about $250 for kit, $500-600 install) but can be dangerous because if some of the frame is rusted it could push through and pretty much ruin your truck.

Check out this thread for good info on lifting.

Thank you for your reply, you have no idea how much i appreciate it. Is there any difference if I already have the stock chrome 17" wheels?

Agreed, I'd go with a spindle lift for the easiest way to clear 33's. If needed, buy a used set to save money.

I wouldn't order ones with shocks, if you need new shocks I'd go with a different set. Generally ones included with kits don't last that long, usually just cheap shocks thrown it to make it sell faster.
