Shipping costs are expensive. It'll probably be more cost effective to have a reputable local shop rebuild it for you. Plus you won't have to do the labor.

Try car-parts.com
Some transmissions on there even have a warranty. My dad and I have both bought parts from there, my dad bought a used transmission with low miles, I bought different parts, But We we're both satisfied.

http://www.monstertrans.com/store/ca...0W/Heavy-Duty/

they are offering free shipping on orders over $50, which a transmission obviously is.

not the cheapest, but rebuild quotes or reman replacement quotes I got on a 4r70w at one point were nearing the price of the monster heavy duty trans and converter. They charge $275 for the return shipping of your core, which does suck, but at least the new one would arrive free.

If you CALL them, you might even be able to see if they might negotiate on the return shipping given the distance from MS to FL.

Who' s doing the remove and replace?

I'll be doing the remove/replace myself. Also I found a local to do the rebuild for a fair price. You guys know anything on a good kit or what exactly I should look for when shopping for a kit?

1) check with your rebuilder for their opinions, some rebuilders like to use a kit they know. I had a rebuilder of a AOD-E tell me they didn't want me to order heavy duty clutches because he thought machine work would be required to use them, and that the clutches he normally used were an "upgrade" from stock

2) then go read in the transmission forum and see if that question has been answered already

If you were building something intended to be "bulletproof" vs. stock vs. mild upgrade, they'll all have a different best in each category and definitely different prices.

Level10 makes a "bulletproof" rebuild kit but it's $500

Bulletproof sounds like something I might should look into. Considering the fact that I'm snake bit. Haha.
